The new Heritage Park sponsored club shirts looked resplendent last Saturday with a club photograph being taken before the Saundersfoot/Pendine match. As reported previously, Heritage Park and the Saundersfoot club are raising money this season in aid of the Cancer Research UK charity.
SAUNDERSFOOT 84 (12 pts.)
PENDINE 61 (2)
Saundersfoot returned to league action last Saturday playing Pendine at home.
After winning their only other Division One match played, defeating Fishguard and Goodwick away, the villagers were hoping to get their home campaign off to a good start and quickly took an early lead.
After five ends, they held a nine shot lead with this being extended to 12 at the half-way point.
With only one rink struggling to make an impression, the overall lead steadily increased to leave a winning margin of twenty three shots.
Rink scores with Saundersfoot first and Pendine skips only were:
Don Poole, Mackie Brace, Louis Price, Joe Dennis 25 Arwel Edwards 11.
George Cavell, John Dugmore, Alan Brain, Berwyn Dennis 27 Mal Dix 14.
Graham Hughes, Dai Davies, Brian Desmond, Myrddin Dennis 12 Stuart King Thomas 20.
Roy Kennion, Nev Ruff, Paul Blayney, Steve Dick 20 Mal Evans 16.
The team travel to play Whitland tomorrow with a 2 pm start.
MEYRICK OWEN
The St. Brides Meyrick Owen rink gained their first win of the season when they defeated Pendine by 25 shots to 13.
The rink consisted of Paul Sneyd, Peter Williams, Dave Hicks and Bob Storey.
Their next match is next Tuesday when they entertain Pembroke Dock.
ST. ISSELL’S TEAMS
No game for the men last weekend as Borderers, of Whitland, cancelled due to player shortage (probably the Steve Reese all day bachelor party having an effect!)
On Sunday, they are due to play at home to Neyland.
The ladies however, continued on their winning way with a victory over Pendine away, winning on both rinks and picking up the maximum six points.
Next Wednesday, the girls play Fishguard at home at 2 pm.
