PORT Talbot travelled to Heatherton for a Welsh Indoor Premier Bowls League fixture recently.

This proved rather difficult for the Port Talbot team, and Heatherton with all rinks playing very well ran out winners by 139 shots to 89. A well deserved 20 pts.

Heatherton’s next game was home again on Sat, 13 December, against league leaders Merthyr Tydfil.

Boasting numerous Welsh international, they were surprised at how difficult the home team made it for them.

They were very lucky in the end to win the match by only 12 shots. Heatherton won four rinks and secured eight valuable points.

In between these two fixtures Heatherton’s over 60s team played their championship game against Pembrokeshire (The Meads ), this again was a home fixture.

This game was very one-sided, with the visitors going down 115 shots to 40.

All the home rinks played really well with one rink winning but 42 - 9.

Unfortunately The Meads membership is not good and this is reflected in their team selection . Hopefully this will improve for them. Heatherton registered a maximum 14 pts. from the fixture.
