The Heatherton indoor bowls club held their competition finals last week.

Welsh international John Roberts again achieved the best results, winning the singles, pairs with Mike Jackson, triples with Mike and Paul Diment and the rinks with Mike, Charles Davies and Simon Hilling.

This was the first occasion since 2019 that the events were able to be held due to covid restrictions and were made possible due to the hard work of Club Chairman Steve Reese and Club Secretary Jean Dezille.

The presentation of trophies end of season evening was due to take place last night.

The week was drawn to a successful conclusion last Sunday when the Heatherton men’s team (pictured left with Welsh Indoor President Ken Henderson) added to their achievement in gaining promotion to the Welsh Premier Division by winning the Welsh knock out cup final at the Pontardawe stadium, defeating a strong Cardiff team by three shots.

Last but certainly not least, after several years of being the Club Secretary, Jean Dezille is retiring from the post and all the members and her many friends wish her well for the future.

Winners were as follows: Mens singles - John Roberts; Mens Over 60 singles - Tudor Harris; Ladies pairs - Steph Amos and Gamma Amos (pictured); Mens pairs - John Roberts and and Mike Jackson; Mixed pairs - Gemma Amos and John Roberts; Mens Over 60s pairs - Richard Morgan and Ken Davies; Mens triples - Mike Jackson John Roberts and Paul Diment; Mens Over 50s triples - Charles Davies, Jeremy Woodford and Kieran Peregrine; Mens rinks - Charles Davies, Simon Hilling, Mike Jackson and John Roberts.
