Whitland were edged out in a thriller at home to Blackwood at the weekend, as the visitors snatched a late try to deny the hosts what would have been a superb victory.
The Borderers were hoping for a winning end to the season after their 33-24 midweek win over Newbridge, and came back from 10 points down at the break to lead the visitors 40-36 with just five minutes to go.
In what was an all-round terrific team effort, with fulback Scott Newton scoring the first of Whitland's six tries.
Others to cross were Zack France-Miller, Dai Ebsworth, Mark Jones, Jonathan Thomas and Fraser Watson, while outside-half Thomas added five conversions.
Blackwood ran in six tries of their own, with Paul Emmanuelli landing five conversions and a penalty to edge their way to a very narrow win.
