Last weekend Aces members - Tracey Thomas, Steph Waring and Carlton Coates travelled down to Cornwall for the Arc of Attriction Extreme Winter 50 mile Trail Run starting at the iconic Minack Theatre tucked into the cliff top near Penzance to Porthtowan.

They had 15.5 hours in which to complete the run and were just inside 14.5 hours.

After training hard over the Pembrokeshire Coast Path it was a shock to each of them how tough the terrain was with huge boulders to scramble over, high steps to negotiate, steep cliffs with 200ft drops and worst - the 3 miles of sand dunes they had to negotiate in the dark near Hayle following direction stones.

They didn’t have time or energy to look up and enjoy the views along the way as had to concentrate to meet cut-off times. This is a well organized event but defiantly not for the feint hearted!

They were well supported along the way by Nicola Coates and Dave Poole as it was only in St Ives where you could stop for hot food.
