The Haverfordwest team, which features Max Brindley and Henry Macbeth from Tenby AFC, played Rhyl in the semi-final and scored two early goals, but were soon in trouble at the half-time stage. Things got worse as Rhyl built up a 5-3 lead, but a fine comeback took the score to 5-5, with penalties to settle the tie.
Haverfordwest were more clinical with their finishing and went through to the final.
The final against Cambrian and Clydach was noted for a contest of tactics.
Haverfordwest passed the ball well in the first half, but Cambrian and Clydach had the patience to let them and scored a goal from a breakway.
Cambrian made the score 2-0, but Haverfordwest's resilience and tenacity again earned them a 2-2 draw.
High tension in the penalty shoot-out saw a crucial miss and a win for a jubilant Cambrian and Clydach squad.
Haverfordwest could be proud of a good all-round team performance against the best teams at this level in Wales, to be worthy runners-up in this national competition.
