Before the lockdown restrictions were in place local youngster James Goodwin-Close continued with his work on carrying out spruce-ups and maintenance duties in Tenby whilst working towards his Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Last year James conducted clean-ups on areas around the South Beach to try and combat littering and make a difference to the area visually, now this year he has transformed the popular Gilroy Phillips garden nearby to Tenby Bowling Green.

“This is one of the gardens that the County Council has taken off their maintenance list as they don’t have the manpower to maintain it, so Tenby in Bloom can’t thank him enough for the way he has transformed this Garden which otherwise would have been left in a neglected state,” said Tenby in Bloom chair Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, in praising James for his hard work.
