Armed with a quiz trail and collecting box, they explored the woodland garden to find and identify as many different leaves and seeds as possible. When they returned to the Bothy, they were able to make up collages with their colourful finds. The children also planted up one of their seeds so, hopefully, there will be Colby trees growing all over the county in the future.
The next event at Colby will be the 'Winter Weekend' on November 16, 17 and 18, with a second-hand book fair, chances for Christmas shopping and food tasting in the National Trust gift shop, children's Christmas crafts and Father Christmas visiting on Sunday, November 18.
