Sir, Further to the carnival coverage in last week's newspaper, I felt I must write to express my delight at seeing a community being brought together at the recent Amroth Carnival. The carnival procession was quite a sight, with at least nine large floats plus many walking entries - all participants obviously having made huge efforts to partake in such a wonderful display. I saw many local faces, and also those from further afield - showing what a fine reputation our little village carnival is gathering. However, the reason for all this merriment must not be forgotten. It is part of a continual fund-raising effort, which raises huge amounts of money for good causes - local people helping local charities, and having fun. What could be better? Well done Amroth - a village working and playing together for the benefit of everyone.
