Two lucky local rugby fans have got their hands on tickets to see Wales’ crunch home matches at the Six Nations thanks to the Tenby branch of Oil 4 Wales.
Wales and British Lions star Dan Lydiate was on hand in Tenby this week to present the winners with their prizes, with Liz Jones who works at Tenby Vets taking the top prize of a pair of Wales vs England tickets for the Principality Stadium in Cardiff tomorrow (Saturday) and Jonny Maddocks who works at Celvac in the the town winning tickets for Wales’s home tie against Ireland in March.
Liz and Jonny were entered into a raffle after purchasing fuel at the Oil 4 Wales Five Ways garage located at The Green in Tenby and were randomly selected as the winners.
Wales and Ospreys flanker Lydiate who is currently out of action after sustaining knee ligament damage during his country’s 27-13 autumn series win against South Africa in November told the Observer about his side’s start to the Six Nations and what he expects from the match against England.
“The first half wasn’t great against Italy but it’s always a hard place to go, and the pressure from the Welsh boys was too much in the end,” said Dan.
“The team looked good in the second half, and their display after the break will mean that we’ll go into the game against England full of confidence.
“England will be missing a couple of big players who are massive for them so there will have to be a change up for them. It will be a close game but I’m tipping us to win it by three or six points,” he added.
