PICTURED being congratulated by Captain S. J. Woodcock, the Commanding Officer of HMS Raleigh, is Gareth Edwards, of Clareston Road, Tenby. Gareth recently passed out of his Phase 1 training in the Royal Naval Logistics Corps. He was also awarded the Captain's Prize for attaining the highest final examination marks. Although Gareth is a qualified aircraft technician, his ambition was to join the Royal Navy and with his passion for food is continuing his career into Phase 2 training as a chef.

His proud parents, Jayne and Paul Edwards, and grandparents, Lon and Cecil Evans, joined Gareth at Torpoint for his passing out parade, where they had a really enjoyable day at HMS Raleigh and, along with his grandfather Stanley Edwards and brother and sister, Sam and Jess, they wish Gareth all the very best for his future career.
