A tree planting weekend in March ahead of this year's Britain in Bloom event is being planned for Tenby.

Tenby in Bloom chairman, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, told her colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council that she was currently thinking of ideas for the weekend.

"It will be a national weekend with the National Trust involved, so we're looking at ideas at the moment. We've already got the Brownies on board to help as they recently won 40 trees for planting in a competition," explained Clr. Mrs. Lane, who also said that she would be attending the Britain in Bloom seminar to be held in Liverpool over the next couple of weeks.

Tenby picked up the best 'small country town' crown for the 26th time in the Wales in Bloom event last year, and is being put forward again this year to compete in the Britain in Bloom awards.
