Seven people active in communities across Pembrokeshire took part in a transnational visit to Murcia in Spain, organised by PLANED, to learn about how their rural communities keep alive their cultural heritage and traditions. The group visited a lace bobbin workshop which has been set-up to provide employment for women in this rural area and also to keep alive the skill of lace bobbin making. The visit was organised as part of the Experience Pembrokeshire Project, with funding from the EU Leader+ programme. The group were also shown round a restored windmill. Funding was provided for the restoration work and in return the owners are obliged to open the mill for educational visits from schools and colleges. The group from Pembrokeshire were: Mike Pedder from Angle, Liz Young from Croesgoch, Rowena Lloyd from Carew, Joan Belt from Templeton, Anton Wislocki from St. Dogmaels, Andrew Dugmore from Llandissilio, and Delyth Evans from St. Florence. The were accompanied by Joan Asby and Merrill Mabey from PLANED. The visit included a ceremony to mark the start of restoration work at the church in Lobosillo, including the burial of a time capsule. PLANED co- ordinator, Joan Asby, placed two leaflets about PLANED's work in the capsule.
