PEMBROKESHIRE residents are invited to take part in a public consultation on the proposed removal of Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) in Haverfordwest and Pembroke.

Pembrokeshire County Council monitors air quality to help protect public health.

In 2012, several streets in both towns were designated as AQMAs after assessments showed that air pollution - primarily caused by traffic - could exceed national air quality objectives.

Since then, sustained improvements have been recorded. Nitrogen dioxide in both locations remains low and comfortably within national standards. Contributing factors include improvements in vehicle emissions and smoother traffic flows.

Residents are invited to complete an online survey by March 20, 2026.
