A very well supported 'meet' of the South Pembrokeshire Hunt at Trevayne Farm, Saundersfoot, last Saturday, had a distinct Victorian flavour about it.

On a bitterly cold morning, with a strong easterly wind coming off the bay, many of the 70 or so mounted followers and a similar number on foot were suitably resplendent in traditional gear - as was the host, Arnold aka Dennis Reed.

Hunt Master Hugh Harrison- Allen expressed the appreciation of everyone for the splendid hospitality received and he added that, over the past months, there had been greatly increased support enjoyed by all Hunt organisations.

This was, he said, particularly so during the half- term and Christmas periods when whole families and especially children with ponies thoroughly enjoyed the open-air activities.

Mrs. Richard Lewis awarded three prizes: A special award for the best turned out - Denny and Roberta Richards, Ann Gammage, Katey and Lewys; best mounted - Elin Cox; best on foot - Graham Hughes.
