Saundersfoot's library, a community asset, which thrives thanks to a dedicated voluntary team who now manage it, ensuring it remains open for locals and visitors alike.

County councillor for the seaside village’s south ward, Cllr Chris Williams praised the facility, after recently meeting with Saundersfoot Library Volunteers who are now helping to run this library which is located inside the Regency Hall venue.

In April 2023, the library in Saundersfoot became a community managed library. Two trustees of the Regency Hall along with a band of very willing volunteers took on shifts to keep the library open and available for the community of Saundersfoot and the wider community.

There is a partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council with the volunteers providing 6 hours, whilst PCC provided 6 hours.

The volunteer workers then went on to provide another 3 hours a week to a total of 9 hours, before then adding another 3 hours for the summer of 2025, mostly to help visitors to the village and those seeking information about Saundersfoot and its neighbouring towns and villages on what to do in the area.

“12 hours a week are now provided by volunteers to help maintain and support this much loved community asset,” said Cllr Williams.

“The library contains a good selection of books both fiction and non fiction as well as some newly published books. There is a reasonable range of large print books and talking books.

“There are computer terminals that can be used by library members along with print and document laminating facilities.

“The volunteers are extremely friendly and able to help with all these tasks,” he contnued.

Opening hours at the library are: Tuesdays, from 10am to 4pm, Thursdays from 10am to 4pm, and also on a Saturday, between 10am and 1pm, with everyone welcome to attend.
