An outdoor sauna that sits alongside Saundersfoot’s spectacular beach has come up trumps at an awards ceremony.

Hwyl Outdoor Sauna were named ‘Sauna of the Year 2026/27’ at the Wales Prestige Awards.

Sitting in the seaside village’s harbour, located in right by the main slipway to the beach, a large picture window at the sauna affords beautiful views across the beach and bay beyond.

The woodfired sauna stove keeps you toasty warm, even on the coldest or rainiest of days; with Hwyl being described as a ‘wonderfully restorative experience that leaves you with a smile on your face and joy in your heart’.

The team behind the facility shared: “January has been an extra special month here at Hwyl Outdoor Sauna. It began with the most magical Saundersfoot New Year’s Day swim, celebrating its 40th year, followed by the most incredible, almost heavenly display of the Northern Lights lighting up the skies above our beautiful village for two nights in a row.

“And just when I was starting to turn my thoughts towards February, one last, very special treat arrived.

“We have won Sauna of the Year 2026/27 at the Wales Prestige Awards – our very first award.

“I am so grateful to my wonderful team, who have made this journey not only possible but genuinely so much fun. Thank you also to all of our amazing customers who have supported us along the way, many of whom now feel more like friends. The storms may be rolling in, but nothing can dampen this much joy.”
