UP Close and Personal at Tenby's Caffe Vista later this month will be Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo (possibly the 'best' guitar duo in the world!).

Yes, they're back and, as with their 2013 visit, Frank and Vinny will be playing at the Caffe for three nights.

Despite 'sell-out' shows in the town's Church House in 2011 and 2012, the duo specifically requested to play in the Caffe, to be closer to the audience, who were treated to four amazing shows... the most intimate and personal of their worldwide annual tour!

Put simply, Frank Vignola is one of the finest guitarists in the world today. He made his mark as the guitarist of choice for some of the world's most accomplished and famous artists and groups... Les Paul, Donald Fagan (Steely Dan), Wynton Marsalis, Ringo Starr, Leon Redbone, Madonna, the Boston Pops and the New York Pops.

About seven years ago Frank got together with an extremely accomplished young guitarist, Vinny Raniolo. They have since worked together in a number of different group configurations, collaborated with some of the world's top musicians and stuck together through thick and thin. They perform 150 to 200 shows a year and have recorded several acclaimed CDs.

Frank says: "I'm very happy and always feel good playing for audiences. We get them involved, we make them laugh a little bit, we dance around sometimes and we play great melodies and songs, so it's a lot of fun."

To see them perform is a sight to behold! Frank's touch and sensitivity on slow passages stirs the emotions, while blazingly fast runs are executed with jaw-dropping accuracy. His playing is always lyrical and melodic, making him a joy to listen to for musicians and non-musicians alike.

At his shoulder, Vinny Raniolo's playing is so complete, it sounds like a full band rhythm section! However, Vinny is more than a straight rhythm guitarist, frequently following Frank note for note with a telepathic understanding that seems barely possible! Together, they shatter the boundaries between jazz, swing, classical and pop/rock music with their unique and delightful arrangements.

They will be appearing at Caffe Vista on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 23, 24 and 25. The door will open at 7.30 pm and the performance will start at 8.30 sharp. You can book by phoning the Caffe on 01834 849636.
