There was a first for Pembrokeshire YFC when one of its most prestigious trophies was jointly awarded to a pair of unsung heroines.
The hard work put in to all aspects of YFC life in Pembrokeshire by Sarah Edwards, of Llawhaden YFC, and Anne Evans, of Keyston YFC, saw them emerge as joint winners of the Wayne Mathias Memorial award.
In jointly awarding the prize, Pembrokeshire YFC president Gill Lawrence said: "I just couldn't split them, they both do so much for county and work so hard for their clubs."
The award is given to members for their outstanding contribution and 'behind the scenes' work for their clubs and the county federation.
Sarah, who works for Health Challenge Pembrokeshire, has held every official post in Llawhaden YFC and has just started her second year as club chairman.
Her citation read: "She is a dedicated, committed member of the movement and, while never seeking the limelight, works tirelessly behind the scenes."
Anne is the current chairman of Keyston YFC and recently helped the club raise more than £1,300 by motivating members to think of new ways of fundraising.
Her nomination read: "Anne is very inspiring to Keyston and has influenced and encouraged fellow members within all aspects of YFC."
Anne and Sarah were presented with their award at the county AGM.
