Residents of Tenby's Crackwell Street experienced an unhappy start to the Christmas holidays as they awoke on Friday morning to discover several hundred pounds worth of damage to their motor vehicles. Three cars and one Land Rover had their tyres slashed, windscreen wipers bent, wing mirrors damaged, as well as a number of scratches to the body work, while parked in the street sometime between 11.30 pm on Thursday and 8 am that morning. Former High Sheriff of Dyfed, Mr. Johnny Thomas DL, who was staying at his holiday home in the street was one of the victims of the vandalism which was discovered by one of his neighbour's, Mr. James Roach-John, of Crackwell House, whose car was also damaged. "This is certainly not the happy and Christmas welcome to Tenby we were expecting," said Mr. Thomas. "I'm not aware of what CCTV coverage there is in this street, but hopefully someone may have spotted someone acting suspiciously and the police will catch the culprits," he added. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact PC Jason Richards at Tenby police station on 0845 330 2000.
