Tenby councillors have advised a local resident to contact the local police authorities with her qualms about certain anti-social behaviour shown by a section of the town's youth.

A letter from Julie Llama, of Saltern Caravan Park, came before councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night. In the letter, reference was made to the "gangs of unruly, foul-mouthed yobs that frequently hijack our streets" and also "boy racers" that use the town's roads as a "speedway track".

Mrs. Llama also felt that the streets of the town were strewn with litter, but noted in a follow-up letter that this had been taken care of.

"Apart from the litter aspect, I think the problems that this resident is referring to are policing matters," commented Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.

The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told councillors that he had mentioned it to one of the town's PCSOs, Idwal David, who said that they did have the power to issue notices to boy racers caught speeding.

"Maybe it would be a good idea for Mrs. Llama to attend one of the police community meetings that the PCSOs hold, so that she could discuss her grievances with an officer," added Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown.
