To support its 'Train One Save Many' appeal, the RNLI is holding an Ebay auction from June 15-25 of rare and exciting prizes. They include the following: a VIP tour of Tenby lifeboat station, or any of 11 other lifeboat stations across the UK and Ireland; an experience training as a lifeboat crew member for the day at the RNLI's award-winning lifeboat college; an overnight stay at the lifeboat college, including dinner, breakfast and a tour of the charity's facilities; a Honda Powerboat Experience day with stunt girl Sarah Donohue; a skydive with the Red Devils; reserved race places for the Boston, Chicago and New York marathons; a trip for two aboard a Virgin hot air balloon. Following the success of the SOS auction in January this year, the RNLI is offering prizes unavailable anywhere else. Members of the public will be able to bid for the chance to gain an amazing insight into the RNLI and its world-class service, with proceeds going to directly to the charity's 'Train One Save Many' appeal. To ensure it is able to provide volunteer crews with the best possible training, the RNLI launched its 'Train One Save Many' fund-raising appeal in 2004. The appeal aims to raise £10 million over five years in order to make sure RNLI lifeboat crews can continue to save lives at sea as safely and effectively as possible.
