Having been a part of the jouney from when the shop was just in its planning stages, I want to personally thank Ty Hafan, my deputy manager Mel, my fantastic volunteer team, including our PAT tester Paul Paddick, for offering their time and skills to the shop for no fee. They all kindly do what they do for no personal gain, just out of the goodness of their hearts. I would also like to extend my thanks to our wonderful supporters for also accompanying the shop on such a joyous adventure.
The shop is now well established and supported in the local community by donors and our local and tourist customer base. Ty Hafan, Tenby expresses heart felt thanks to those who share our passion for such a wonderful cause.
Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice was founded by the late Sue Goodall and is based in Sully, serving children all over Wales. The hospice recently celebrated its 18th birthday. Having met the care team at the hospice and experienced the team’s beautiful way of working, it is an honour to be here in Tenby doing our bit for such a wonderful charity. A recent visit to the hospice and an observation I made really showed me how our hard work in the shop pays off, having seen a family at the hospice, all together, smiling, laughing and happy.
Though these families using the hospice are dealing with the inevitable truth that their child/sometimes children will not reach adulthood, we’re able to gift them with somewhere they can just be and enjoy each other’s company whilst the amazing nursing staff take care of any needs they may have. Whilst at Ty Hafan, families can simply enjoy quality time together.
As Ty Hafan’s annual costs are now nearing £4 million, we ask now for everyone’s help.
To continue supporting us here at Tenby Shop, please do visit if you’re passing. We always aim to have a diverse range of products out to suit all tastes. Likewise, please continue to bring in your unwanted items. We accept good quality donations of clothes, furniture, bed linen, bric a brac, DVDs/CDs, toys and electrical items.
We are always seeking volunteers to join our wonderful volunteering team, so if you can spare just a couple of hours a week to help us, please pop in for an application form.
