VIEWERS will have another chance to catch up on the life of young writer Paul Watkins when HTV re-runs 'Welsh in New York' on Tuesday.

First shown last year, the Al Fresco production takes a look at the lives of influential Welshmen who left their homeland to seek their fortune in the United States, including founder of the New York Times, George L. Jones, of Montgomeryshire.

During the programme, presenter Marc Freden also visits the home of former Times and Sunday Times editor Harold Evans, before turning his attention to American-born writers with Welsh roots, including Arturo Roberts, the Patagonian editor of Ninnau, an English language newspaper for Welsh Americans.

The author of seven novels, Paul Watkins was born in America, but has his roots firmly based in Pembrokeshire and attended Tenby's St. Stephen's School.

The programme, produced by Liz Lloyd-Griffiths and John Pierce-Jones, and directed by Ronw Protheroe, can be seen at 7.30 pm on HTV.
