AT first glance, the six images look like a cosy December afternoon: baubles being hung, soft lights glowing, hands carefully decorating the tree. But only five of them ever happened in real life. One was generated entirely by AI.
The festive puzzle, created by AI invoice-processing platform Snowfox, challenges people to find the digitally fabricated photo among five genuine shots – and to see just how convincing modern AI has become.
The question is simple: would you notice it while scrolling?
If you’re struggling, here’s a hint: look closely at how the hands interact with the ornament – not everything follows the laws of physics.
Ilkka Lassila, CEO of Snowfox.ai, said, “This Christmas puzzle is fun, but it highlights something important: AI is powerful, but without the right controls it can also introduce errors that humans might overlook.
“Whether it’s a warped ornament on a Christmas tree or a misread number on an invoice, attention to detail makes all the difference.”
Solution:

The centre-bottom image. At first glance it looks perfectly natural, but subtle giveaways give it away: slightly inconsistent finger anatomy, unnatural grip, and lighting on the bauble that doesn’t fully match the surroundings.
