There is a new initiative being piloted in Pembrokeshire bringing together the work of SPARC/PLANED and the work of the WI Country Markets.
Anyone is welcome to participate who wishes to earn an extra income from his or her skills or talents. The WI Country Markets offer an opportunity for women and men to make money by selling to the public without the added costs of overheads incurred if you were running your own business.
The WI markets do have to comply with the trading regulations and all goods are sold at reasonable prices according to the market's locality. Anyone, WI members, non WI members, husbands, wives with family commitments and home ties are all welcome to join if they have a suitable produce to offer for sale.
The WI Country Markets encourage the production of first class produce. The markets give the public the opportunity to purchase country fresh, home-made food, vegetables straight from the garden, and bunches of country flowers. They also provide a friendly meeting place between the town and country in many places where they are held each week.
This new initiative will give anyone who is interested the opportunity to find out how the WI Country Markets work and how they can help you sell your products to make a modest income.
The tutors are all members of the WI Country Markets and can share their first hand experiences. The WI Country Markets can be used to help you discover if there is a market for your product and possibly a stepping-stone to starting your own business.
If you are interested in finding out more then contact Rachel Gibby at SPARC/PLANED on 01834 860965. The programme will be beginning on Monday, November 12.
