Three TROTs completed the 16.5 mile race organised by Sarn Helen Club. Mike Evans was fifth, Kevin Griffiths seventh and both completed it in under two hours. Ann Thomas, meanwhile, completed it in just over two hours and was the overall female winner.
At Talley there was the 5km road race. Roger Coombs came 11th and won the first male veteran award. Mary Bowen Rees was 17th and was the overall female winner. Dave Griffiths was 19th and Ann Rowell 43rd. Ann was third in the female veteran category.
On Bank Holiday Monday, eight TROTs ran the 4.5 mile race at Dinas Head. Results were as follows: Ann Thomas 5th, Cyril Walters 10th, Dave Griffiths 14th, Penny Rees 23rd, Mike Hodges 26th, Lindy Eynon 27th, Tanis Hand 30th and Ann Rowell 33rd. Ann Thomas was the overall female winner, Penny Rees was third in the open female category and Lindy Eynon third in the female veteran category. TROTs organised their annual Dambuster run around the Llys yr Fran Dam. Twelve TROTs ran in hot and dry conditions.
Results were as follows: Kevin Griffiths 5th, Ann Thomas 9th, Roger Coombs 10th, Dave Griffiths 12th, Alistair Powell 14th, Cyril Walters 18th, Ian Morris 25th, Lindy Eynon 34th, Ann Rowell 36th, Lon Morgan 46th, Helen Williams 47th and Pauline Thomas 48th.
Kevin and Cyril won their age category and Ann Thomas was the female winner. Trots won the male team award.
Ian Williams ran an outstanding time and a personal best time at the Manchester 10km race of 30 mins 53 secs.
