Fourteen TROTs took part in the London marathon. With over 35,000 runners, it was the hottest day recorded in the event's 27-year history.  Ann Thomas ran under three hours and was the fastest Welsh lady. She won an individual gold medal. Next was Clive Thomas, then Mary Bowen Rees and Clare Clethero.  Mary was the fifth and Clare the seventh female to finish from Wales.  Ann, Mary and Clare won a team gold medal in the Welsh Championships. Martin Davies, Dave Griffiths, Amanda Morgan, Lon Morgan, Pauline Thomas, Penny Rees, Tom Furness, Mike Hodges, Liz Richards and Brian Williams all sucessfully completed it.
