Pembrokeshire County Council has confirmed that it has refused an application for restrospective planning permission with regard to the widening a lane at Telpyn Farm, Amroth.

The application was refused on September 8 and the area planning enforcement officer has subsequently written to the applicant asking for a timetable for the carrying out of remedial works. Trees had been removed to widen the lane and a spokesperson for the council said: "The developer would be expected, where appropriate, to plant new specimens and carry out remedial landscape works. "There is no formal protection for the existing woodland and hence no penalties for the destruction of the woodland."

If no satisfactory reply has been received within a month (by November 27), then the council would initiate enforcement proceedings.
