Sir,

I imagine Clr. Mrs. Putwain and any other folk living in the harbour area would be extremely unpopular curtailing the enjoyable events that take place down there.

For just a few evenings during the year we and our visitors are entertained by concerts, fireworks, films etc. that give great pleasure to all who attend.

Congratulations to the cleaners, tidiers and helpers who return the harbour to normal by the next morning. Good job! The police state that crime is down; no problem there then.

So, if a large pair of earplugs doesn't solve the problem perhaps Mrs. Putwain and any detractors could go along to these events, mingle and enjoy themselves. That's what the rest of us do!

Christine,
