Following auditions which took place in October, some 20 young people have been signed up to a brand new project in Narberth. TidyLike Youth Theatre is run by experienced theatre practitioner Tessa French and meets weekly at St. Andrew's Hall. "It's the best thing that's happened to Thursdays!" said Bonnie, while Christina added: "It's great fun, Tess is fab, most fun I've had in a long time." Coming soon will be their first show, a surreal piece on the contrasts of Christmas at St. Andrew's Hall, Narberth, on Friday, December 28. Money raised from the show will fund more projects for young people. Its sole purpose is to support all forms of music and art in West Wales. All profits are recycled back into supporting initiatives that benefit the community. Other current initiatives range from recording, producing and distributing CDs for free to local bands and musicians, creative play opportunities with music; circus skills with Circus Malarkey for young disabled people for Pembrokeshire County Council's play department and providing instrument tuition creative song writing and recording sessions for young people as part of their Community Safety and Youth Offending Team Partnership. Look out for a new Rock School coming in January as well! Another innovation from TidyLike is about to go live. A community enterprise shop is soon to open in Narberth. It aims to support and showcase the local music industry by specialising in selling local music of all genres and lots of other interesting goodies perfect for your ethical Christmas shopping.
