Tidy take-over?

The Keep Tenby Tidy group looks set to be taken over by the town's Bloom committee.

The Tidy committee which is in 'suspended animation' as there are only two officers remaining, wrote to town councillors asking if their accounts could be transferred to the Town Council to maintain the aims and objects of the group.

However, as new criteria from Britain in Bloom emphasised environmental and 'tidy' issues, chairman of the Bloom committee, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, felt that the funds could be better directed by the Bloom committee, which she was also hoping would attract 'new blood' this year.

Members agreed to write to the chairman of the Tidy group outlining the suggestion.
