Oakwood Theme Park is encouraging as many people as possible to support this year’s Tenby Boxing Day Swim.
The Narberth attraction has confirmed it will be one of the event’s main sponsors this year and is urging as many people as possible to take the plunge and get involved.
Last year’s event, which featured a Cool Cymru theme, saw nearly 600 dippers taking to the water – many in Welsh-themed costumes including dragons, Fireman Sam and Dylan Thomas.
A total of £12,116 was raised for local, national and international charities and good causes, taking the total raised in the event’s history to around £260,000.
“We’re delighted to once again be able to support this amazing local event which raises so much money for local charities,” said Oakwood Theme Park’s Phil Verbinnen.
“Anyone who is courageous enough to take a dip on Boxing Day deserves all the support and encouragement they can get!
“As well as the swimmers it also attracts incredible crowds to cheer everyone on and is a great way to work off some of the Christmas excesses,” he added.
Now in its 46th year, and organised by the Tenby Sea Swimming Association (TSSA), the Tenby Boxing Day Swim attracts hundreds of entrants and huge crowds of spectators.
It’s been named as one of Britain’s Top 10 barmiest festive dips and is ranked as one of Wales’ best festive highlights.
The big plunge is at 11.30am, with hundreds of crazy bathers, many in fancy dress, stampeding for the sea, watched by large crowds from every vantage point.
Swimmers can collect for their own charities or good causes, or those nominated by TSSA.
