For the second match in a row, Tenby's young warriors scored 11 goals in a one-sided match that showed that getting these boys to train and understand the game at a young age reaps benefits in the long run.

Tenby travelled to Johnstown, Carmarthen, to play on the Astroturf. This was probably the first time many of the Tenby boys had played on this type of surface and they all adapted well to the bounce and the fast conditions.

From the start, the Tenby defence of Rhys Nicholls, Elliot Goldsmith and Toby Rossiter were looking sharp and fit.

This is testament to the hours of training the warriors have had from Jim, Ted Lloyd and Spider over the winter months, and the boys ran like 'Forrest Gumps' for over 50 minutes.

First to score was the energetic David Webb, who dribbles the ball like Stanley Matthews (unlike his father who dribbled like Bernard Matthews!). This was to be the first of a well-taken hat-trick for David.

The midfield of Jack Murphy, Declan Harris and Cheyne Lloyd passed the ball well and fed the strikers with plenty of opportunities.

The first-half finished 6-2 to Tenby, with Jack scoring two and Toby Rossiter one.

The second-half saw the Tenby pressure continue, with good goals from Declan and Adam Conbeer. Hugo Wellum had his usual brilliant game in goal and was replaced by Scott Cowens late on.

Rhys Nicholas, who is looking quick and strong and will grow up to be a talented and gifted player, scored and the pacey Daniel Fairly wrapped the game up, with the final score being 11-2 to Tenby.

Many thanks to the parents and supporters who travelled to Carmarthen, and to Neil Webb for controlling the match.
