Tenby Town Council has announced the appointment of a new Town Clerk

Sam Dickins takes up the role with a strong commitment to public service and community engagement, and will work closely with councillors, local organisations and residents to support the Council's activities and priorities for the town.

The announceement comes following the retirement earlier this year of Andrew Davies who served as clerk to the Town Council for 23 years.

A graduate of Bangor University, Mr Dickins is returning to Wales after serving as the Deputy Town Clerk for Wareham Town Council in Dorset.

The position of Town Clerk is a key role within the Council, providing professional advice and administrative leadership, ensuring that the Council operates effectively and delivers for the people of Tenby.

Mayor of Tenby, Cllr Dai Morgan, welcomed the appointment, stating: "On behalf of Tenby Town Council, I am delighted to welcome Sam Dickins as our new Town Clerk. This is an excellent appointment for the Council and for the town. Sam brings enthusiasm, professionalism and a strong commitment to serving the community. We look forward to working with him as we continue to support and promote all that makes Tenby such a special place to live, work and visit."

Mr Dickins said: "I am honoured to have been appointed as Town Clerk for Tenby. I look forward to working with councillors, partner organisations and residents to help deliver the Council's objectives and contribute to the continued success of this wonderful town.

“I look forward to meeting people in the weeks ahead and hearing about people’s priorities for the future. Tenby is a truly special place and I’m delighted to be joining the Council at such an important time.”
