Wimbledon may be over for another year, but the season is in full swing at Tenby Tennis Club!

Richard and Oliver thoroughly enjoyed their day at Wimbledon seeing the top players and revelling in the atmosphere of the best tennis tournament, and have come back inspired and full of enthusiasm.

Last Sunday was the third Tennis Pembrokeshire League Tournament and was held at Pembroke. Forty-four children from across the county took part in four separate competitions and it was delightful to watch as the standard of tennis was fantastic.

The 'Orange' team representing Tenby was Joe Ravenscroft, Morgan Davies, Harry Batty and Lloyd Mammatt - all but Joe playing their first tournament. They did extremely well and played some tough opposition, but kept going and smiling and notched up a total of 140 points for Tenby. Well done boys.

In the 'Green' team, Tenby was represented by Thomas Harding-Jones, Oliver Robinson and Rhys Tinsley.

All three players won all of their games, playing fabulous tennis which was exciting to watch and had the spectators applauding with enthusiasm.

This result meant that Tenby were top of the league on the day with 190 points and also top the league overall. An excellent effort, congratulations.

All the members are very proud of both their teams who played and behaved well and were a credit to Tenby Tennis Club. The next Tennis Pembrokeshire League tournament will be held in Haverfordwest on September 4.

With the summer holiday in full swing, Tenby Tennis Club will be operating a 'Pay and Play' fun session each Tuesday on July 26 and August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and September 6, at 4.30 to 5.30 pm, at a cost of £3 per session.

From 5.30-6.30 pm every Tuesday, junior and senior players meet for a social game of tennis - singles and doubles, mixing round for short sets - this is charged at £3 per session with a concessionary rate of £2 for students.

The club shall also be running a summer camp on Wednesday mornings (July 27 and August 3, 10, 17 from 9.30-11 am for all ages and abilities.

These sessions are open to all children and parents and are a great opportunity to bring a friend along.
