It's very encouraging to see excellent turnouts for the Wednesday and Sunday racing. Last Wednesday's race was closely contested, with the Redwings taking the honours.

The final 1-2-3 was: 1. Rolly Squibbs in a Redwing; 2. Mike Stace in a Redwing; 3. Tim Brace in a Mirror.

Well done to Tim Brace, making a comeback after a long absence from the sailing scene.

Sunday's conditions were harsher, with conditions suiting the RSs. There were a few retirements, a testimony to the wind strength.

The final 1-2-3 was: 1. Steven Stubbs in a RS700; 2. Chris Mackay in a RS600; 3. Rolly Squibbs and John Beamish in a Redwing.

Fans of the divine GP14 will be disappointed to learn that, due to work commitments, it will not be partaking in racing for the next month or so. Do I hear a sigh of relief from the racing fraternity?

Racing as usual on Sunday and Wednesday, as well as the highly subscribed sail training sessions on Wednesday.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the annual Passage Race takes place from Hobbs Points to Tenby. We wish all competitors fair winds and smooth sailing.

The social scene continues. Last Saturday the club opened its doors for afternoon teas and cakes. After a slow start, the number of visitors picked up greatly, which made it all worthwhile for organisers Sheila Spiller and Anne Hutchings. Many thanks for their continued efforts in trying to promote various innovative events which, on occasions, have not had the support expected.

The social committee constantly strives to put on events which will benefit members and friends. Members who feel they can contribute in any way to further 'the cause' should contact Terry Evans on 844256 we look forward to hearing from you.

Tomorrow (Saturday) evening there is a BBQ at the club, commencing at approximately 7 pm. Why not come down and partake in lovely 'tucker' in convivial, picturesque surroundings. See you tomorrow.
