May's meeting of Tenby Ladies Circle was held at the home of Circler Julia Sharp, where new chairman, Jayne, gave a warm welcome to president Jane and honoraries Karen and Judith to their final meeting. Jayne thanked them for their support and friendship over the past year and hoped that they would all still meet up for social events. President Jane reported on an excellent handover for outgoing chairman Edna and incoming chairman Jayne. It had been an excellent fun-filled evening in true Circle style, with wonderful speeches and songs. Chairman Jayne reported on ther Soroptimists handover, where she had nearly attended the wrong venue. A good evening was had by all. She also reported on the Tangent handover, which had been an excellent evening catching up with past Circlers. Julia reported on the area meeting and annual general meeting held in Cymmer, which she had attended with Cheryl. It had been a good, if late starting meeting, with good strawberries and good friends. Dinner secretary Cath Graham requested Circlers to bring raffle prizes with them to the next meeting, which would be used at forthcoming dinners. Treasurer Kirsty Willing advised that subs were now due and requested all Circlers to get their cheques to her as soon as possible. Entertainment officer Andrea Baldwin advised that the first social would take place Saturday, June 28. Further details to follow. Jayne's president for her forthcoming year is Debbie Davies, with honoraries being Julia Wood and Michelle Grigg. After a few telephone calls to ask them to accept, they arrived for a glass of wine to start off the year - some even wearing hats! Forthcoming dates: May 17 - Race for Life; May 24 - area handover; June 1 - Diabetes UK Walk in the Park; June 28 - first social; July 12 - summer dinner; December 13 - Christmas dinner. The next Circle meeting will be held at the home of Cath Graham on Thursday, June 12.
