Tenby had a hard-fought game against their rivals Narberth and just about did enough to edge the game.

Credit to Narberth, they played really well throughout and went close numerous times and only last gasp tackles prevented them from scoring.

Dylan had another fine game and also ended up scoring a great try from his own half after some good work from the forwards Harvey, Henry and Ben.

The first half was a tight affair and Tenby's hands let them down on a few occasions when the simple pass would have been the easier choice.

The Folly Farmers had a good talking to at half-time and the emphasis was on putting the ball through the hands instead of looking for contact against the bigger Narberth forwards.

William was more aggressive as he stole opposition ball which enabled Iori to snipe around the blind so that Dom was left clear for him to score in the corner.

Thomas was also on the scoresheet after he cut inside after good work from Jamie as he disrupted opposition ball to steal the ball at the contact area.

Billy was Tenby's top tackler as he thrives on hitting the opposition back which prevents the opposition having any platform.

Tenby's three other tries were scored by Harri which was the reward for always supporting the ball carrier in attack. Well done boys!

Tenby U9s Bs 4 Narberth 0

In a home game at the Clicketts, once again Tenby U9s B team showed what dedication they have by playing a well-established Narberth side and following in the As footsteps by becoming a very strong team.

Throughout, they showed concentration, hunger and a good understanding of the game.

Gus scored two tries, while Lewis and Gethin each scored one, all of which were superb, and with a narrow miss for Morgan who almost made it five.

Tenby tackled superbly and made sure they had control with yet again a very strong defence. Well done boys!

Thanks must also go to the parents of both teams for a strong turn out culminating in a great morning if not a warm one! This was, however, remedied by hot teas, coffees and toast supplied by the newly-opened club and run by Tenby's parents.

A reminder again to all U9s that training is 4.45 pm on Thursdays at Greenhill astro-turf.

NARBERTH U11s 1

The second game of the morning for the boys and against Narberth you may think one game too many! But oh no. With a classy Narberth fresh and eager to play, this was a great game of rugby.

With quality all over the field, Narberth went looking for a weakness in the Tenby defence but with Jordan and Edward tackling everything that moved, the boys seemed to get stronger and played as a team which must have pleased coach Jim.

Most of the play was in midfield with each player cancelling his opposite number out, but then came a moment of class. Natty had quick ball from the Tenby outside-half Adam and with Tom taking the outside, left room for Harry to take a ball just inside his own half and running straight at his opposite number at pace, he rounded his man, cut across and beat the centre and scored a great try. The team knew this game was always going to be tight and so for Tenby to take the lead was well-deserved.

Edward and Ryan were always available and with Chris and Aran W. keeping Narberth's big forwards quiet with some telling runs the half finished 1-0 to Tenby.

From the re-start, a Narberth kicked caused all sorts of problems and from nothing, Narberth were five-metres out and looking like scoring, even with brave tackles from Max and Chris, Narberth scored. The score was 1-1 and it was game on.

Tenby picked themselves up and went on the attack again with good runs from Adam and Harry and more strong tackles from Jordan and Aaron L. It looked like a draw. Ryan was finding his man in the lineout every time and good support from Lewis saw Tenby move up the field towards the Narberth line.

Narberth knocked-on and referee Chris Williams gave a scrum with Narberth lined up all on the open to counter the Tenby runners, Tom, Natty, Harry and Jacob. This left the blind open and now with Edward at scrum-half, quick-thinking and a good hooked ball from Tenby's forward set Edward up for a dash unopposed to the line to make it 2-1.

Jim made a few changes for tired legs, but still the strong squad worked well. With Morgan S. looking strong and the improving Morgan D. always keen to get involved the game came to an end and a well-deserved win for Tenby against a good Narberth side 2-1.

A great effort for both games and this showed just how much a team game of rugby is. Jim enjoyed his Guinness in the club afterwards even more than usual! Thanks for all your support.

Team: Max, Aran W., Ryan, Jordan, Chris, Lewis, Aaron L., Edward, Jacob, Adam, Morgan D., Morgan S., Natty, Harry, Tom and Malley.

PEMBROKE DOCK QUINS 1

After defeat to Pembroke last week, the boys were determined to change things around and they did, in style.

With Max, Arran and Edward making some telling runs at the heart of the bigger Quins pack and well-supported by Ryan, Jordan and Jacob, it wasn't long before Tenby scored.

The Quins had no answer for Tenby's quick rucking and controlled mauling and this set-up the Tenby backs with a perfect platform to attack from.

Jacob and Adam at half-backs combined well and the straight running of Tom caused all sorts of problems for the defence, adding to this strong running from Natty and pace to burn out wide with Harry, more tries were on the cards.

With a strong squad, changes could be made without too much change to the game plan, for the rampant Tenby side.

On came Lewis and Malley and straight away Malley came close to scoring. Morgan S. came on for Harry and Morgan D. swapped with Adam.

Still Tenby made chances and more tries were scored with Edward claiming a hat-trick o and one-a-piece for Max, Tom and Chris who made some telling runs.

It was Jordan's turn to be replaced with Aaron L. who was straight into the action with a good run up the middle, and quick ball to Edward who score his fourth.

Jordan returned to score out wide after hard-work from Max and Arran W.

The final try came from a darting run from the busy Jacob who set Natty away to score his first try and Tenby's ninth of the game.

The Quins never gave up and scored a consolation try in the final minutes to finish the game Tenby nine Quins one. Well done!

Squad: Max, Aran W., Ryan, Edward, Jordan, Jacob, Adam, Tom, Natty, Harry, Morgan S., Malley, Morgan D., Lewis and Aaron L.

Tenby Swifts U7s and 8s

Tenby U8s are showing lots of promise. This week they came up against a very strong Narberth side who showed great running skills to score six tries through Daffyd, Bruce (two), Cai, Rhys and Ivan.

Tenby showed great character to score two very good tries of their own by Charlie Fry and Thomas Stubbs.

Coaches Roland, Justin and Chris had plenty of players to choose from when the U7s took to the pitch. Narberth started well and scored tries by Cerys and Thomas, before captain Henry Buet replied for Tenby.

Another try by Rhodri made it 3-1 to Narberth before Rhys Grigg scorched in from the start off. Dylan Johns who ran well all day scored the next try before little Archie Hughes touched down in the corner making the final score Tenby four Narberth three.

Great fun was had by all the players, parents and supporters. A big thank to Gareth who showed great refereeing skills even after he lost his whistle!

Tenby U15s 52 Pembroke 0

Tenby Under 15s continued their impressive winning streak of five games out of five following yet another decisive win over Pembroke at The Clicketts on Sunday, October 12.

Apart from the first couple of minutes when Pembroke put Tenby under pressure, Tenby , it must be said dominated for the rest of the game.

The backs proved to be too fast and strong for the visitors, with some great pace being shown by Chris Morgan and Luke Brolan, not forgetting Gregg Caine and Ben Thomas, all of who showed a great determination.Cameron Wood linked well between the forwards and the backs.

The backs were well supported by the solid forwards who scrummaged well and were strong in the lineouts, varying the 'call' at every opportunity.

Pembroke really did not have an answer for the solid defence and hard tackling that kept them at bay by both the backs and forwards. Great stuff lads keep it up.

Tenby team: David Duckworth, Wesley Bonser, Ben Prestwich, Dom Hicks, Jack butler, Andy Whitehouse, Joe Proctor, Andy Murphy, Cam Wood, Luke Brolan, Elliott Randall (capt.), Chris Morgan, Greg Caine, Jake Proctor, Ben Thomas. Subs: Martin Philips, Dewi Thomas, Ryan Fielder.

Tenby's try scorers: Wesley, Jack, Luke, Chris, Greg and Jake. Conversions: by Elliott and Luke
