On Friday, June 8, St. Davids played hosts to several Tenby Swift teams. Tenby U11s, lacking in quantity, but brimming with quality, could field just eight travellers, but that was to be enough against a shell-shocked St. Davids team. Tenby laid down their intentions straight from kick- off, putting pressure on the Saints and forcing them to turn the ball over. The front row of Ryan, Daniel and Thomas, proved too strong for St. Davids forwards all game, setting up a platform for scrum-half Nathan, outside-half Kieran, crash-centre Aled (this isn't a misprint!) and wingers Josh and Elliott. Tenby played champagne rugby all match, with support play, ball handling, defence and confidence, all leading to a quite emphatic victory. St. Davids, to their credit, played with enthusiasm all match, never letting their chins drop. The match was played with great sportsmanship from both teams. A great wind down to the season. Tenby fielded: Ryan, Daniel, Thomas, Nathan, Kieran, Aled, Josh and Elliott. After the game, players and parents enjoyed a BBQ and then retired to the bar to mix with their hosts, before camping out overnight. Training for U11s continues every Thursday evening up until the school holidays.
