Tenby has been blooming marvellous this week! Judging took place on Wednesday for this year's Tenby in Bloom competition. There was a high standard of entries in the 35th annual floral contest, with the judges having a difficult job in choosing the winners. Awards will be presented by the president of Tenby in Bloom, the town's Mayor, Clr. John Griffiths, at Tenby House Hotel, on Thursday, July 26, at 10.30 am.

RESULTS

Class 1: Best garden visible from the road - 1. Mr. and Mrs. Church, 13 Oakridge Acres; 2. Michelle Hinde, 19 The Clicketts; highly commended - Mrs. Mavis Jenkins, 103 Upper Hill Park. Class 2: Best forecourt without a garden - 1. Mr. Scanlan, 3 Augustus Place; 2. Mr. H. G. Luxton, 5 Rocky Park. Class 3: Best display with window boxes/hanging baskets - 1. Mrs. Hartland, 70 Heywood Court; 2. Mrs. Betty Beynon, 6 The Glebe; highly commended - Edward Cameron, 65 Heywood Court. Class 4: Best garden not visible from the road - 1. Mr. W. Brace, 5 Heywood Court; joint 2. Suzanne Wall, 75 Heywood Court and Mrs. D. Lewis, West Lawn, Heywood Lane; highly commended - Alan and Chris Gourlay, 78 Heywood Court. Class 5: North Residents Association - Lyn Kelly, 8 Southlands.
