Tenby in Bloom committee members, Clrs. Mrs. Sue Lane and Mrs. Tish Rossiter, along with the Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, have been busy this week handing out awards to the winners of the Tenby in Bloom poster competition. On their travels, the councillors have visited the Tenby Junior and Infants Schools, St. Teilos School and Tenby Playgroup, to present children with their prizes. At Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Tenby in Bloom chairman, Clr. Mrs. Lane, praised the town's hotels, pubs, restaurants and private houses for all their efforts in brightening up the resort. "Everyone's pulled out all the stops to put Tenby back on track as far as its floral displays are concerned. So whether your contribution was financial or flower, I'd like to thank everyone for their effort," said Clr. Mrs. Lane, who praised the county council's Brian Maddox and Rhodri Jenkins and their team in making the town's gardens look so wonderful. Clr. Mrs. Rossiter commended the chairman on her hard work in preparing the town for the event. "I'd like to congratulate Sue on her marvellous effort. If we don't see Tenby get a place on Wales in Bloom's award list, then there is something wrong." The Mayor also congratulated the pair on their hard work and all the school children who had taken part in the poster competition.
