MERLINS BRIDGE U10s 0 TENBY U10s 8
Tenby U10s played their third game of the season on Saturday and found the opposition a tough nut to crack in the first half, with some excellent saves coming from the home 'keeper.
Henry Lawrence broke the deadlock with a great strike that passed through a packed area into the net for the opener.
This seemed to settle the team, who then began passing the ball around neatly.
Henry found Daryl with a throughball and he turned and beat a defender before slotting it home past the goalie for the second goal.
The second half started a lot better, with Lloyd scoring with a long range shot within a minute of the restart.
Tenby's defence of Lewis Davies, Alex Harley and Cerith Messenger moved further upfield to keep the pressure on, leaving Lewis Hodgeson a lone figure in goal, with little to do, but when called into action he did so with confidence.
The midfield of Ianto Griffiths, Tom Nicholas and Michael Robins all played their part, with Ianto and Michael scoring one each and Tom getting two, with Lloyd completing the scoring with his second.
It was another great team performance, with lots of passing. A terrific result boys - Reme was smiling again! Also, thanks to parents for their support.
JOHNSTON 2
TENBY U12s 5
The Picnic Basket sponsored Tenby Under 12s had their first win in their new kit after a hard fought game against Johnston.
Both sides started off well, with the Johnston team strengthened by players from the defunct Neyland Under 12s side.
Tenby scored first, with Guto Griffiths passing a very long ball out of defence which Sam Christopher ran onto well and he chipped the advancing goalkeeper. Jordan Lloyd scored a few minutes later after a good passing movement from Billy Vaughan, Christopher and Lloyd.
Despite some sterling defending by Scott Helmich, new signing Luke Dedman, Joe Lewis and Richard Jones, Johnston scored just before half-time.
A head injury to Griffiths meant a reshuffle at half-time, with Jamie Robins playing at right back and Lewis pushing up front. Defender Jones swapped with Gavin Kinsey to play left wing and early on in the second half the switch paid off, with Jones scoring from a cross-shot that went through the 'keeper's legs.
While Tenby were pressing forward with excellent midfield control by unsung hero Aaron Goldsmith and Bill Vaughan, their defence lacked discipline and after a corner on the right, Johnston broke free and outran the lone defender, leaving Richard Thomas in the Tenby goal no chance of saving the shot.
Christopher scored again after a perfect throughball from Vaughan and then completed his hat-trick from a penalty after being hacked down in the box, making it 5-2 to Tenby.
Johnston pulled one back after another Tenby mistake and the last few minutes were very fraught, with both sides trying to get another goal without conceding anything.
Well done to Luke Dedman, who had a very impressive debut, and to Kurt Smith, who came on with 10 minutes to go.
Thanks to all the parents for their transport and support and congratulations to Billy and Sam who are in the county under 12s squad.

SAUNDERSFOOT U16s 3
The first leg of this local derby went to Saundersfoot, who showed their school friends from Tenby how to soak up pressure and find the back of the net.
Tenby attacked numerous times from the kick-off, but were thwarted time and time again by the influential Saundersfoot captain, Jason Llama, who was simply outstanding.
Llama and his fellow defenders stood firm from the Tenby onslaught and were rewarded for their efforts when a clearance, from defence, looked to be safely covered by Tom Hilling. However, the ball took a cruel bounce and Hilling mis-kicked, which allowed Peter Bailey to run through and beat the advancing Hurlow in the Tenby goal.
The home side could have equalised and even taken the lead when crosses by Perry Broadhurst and Dan Cope found David Otton at the far post, but he could only watch his headers go, firstly, over the bar and then wide of the post.
Towards the end of the half, Saundersfoot were awarded a free-kick just outside the box which almost found the unmarked Richard Haines at the far post. Tenby were slow to pick up Haines on that occasion and when the visitors had a similar kick minutes later they were even slower to mark him as he made no mistake from short range.
Tenby went back on the attack and just before the interval Daniel Brace, in the Saundersfoot goal, just managed to get his finger tips to a shot from Scott Smith and push it away for a corner.
Tenby pushed forward at the start of the second half looking for that all important first goal, when a long clearance kick found the Tenby captain, David Day, alone in his own half. However, his pass struck the charging Saul Swindlehurst, who then had a free run on goal to score past Hurlow.
Tenby tried in vain to reduce the deficit, but could only watch as efforts by Mike Davis, Tom Page, David Day and Mike Davis again, either narrowly missed the target or were well saved by Brace.
Although Tenby played well throughout the game, it was Saundersfoot who took all three points home with them, with a brilliant defensive display and clinical finishing.
Tenby Under 16s are sponsored by Lewis and Lewis, Solicitors, while the ball sponsor was Hillings of Tenby.

ST. CLEARS U14s 1
TENBY U14s 3
The U14s travelled to St. Clears with a few regulars missing. However, such is the strength of the squad this season that they were still able to field a solid team.
It was very hot and the sun was low in the sky, causing problems and on times blinding the players, and especially Tenby's goalie in the first half.
The game started briskly, with Tenby gaining the best possession, and after a few close chances, they thought they had netted an opener, but the goal was disallowed.
Tenby didn't let up and after some sustained pressure an in-form Harry Allen scored the first.
Both teams were battling hard, with many crucial decisions going St. Clears' way.
Adam Hughes, Tenby's goalie, leapt up to catch a high ball. As he caught the ball, an opposing player collided with him and a controversial penalty was awarded, which enabled St. Clears to score.
Tenby dug in and just before half-time Bruce Tasker slotted in the crucial second.
The second half started off fast and furious, but the heat got the better of both teams and a quiet 10 minutes followed.
Tenby once again took the initiative and a series of close attempts at goal followed.
When St. Clears were in possession, they played well, but found it almost impossible to penetrate the strong defence and midfield.
Allen set up the third for Tasker, who once again came up trumps, scoring a blinder and taking the final score to 1-3 to Tenby.
The Tenby side played as a team throughout. Adam Hughes, in goal, was put under enormous pressure in both halves from a barrage of free-kicks, requiring him to pull off match-saving scores; Paul Griffiths and Rhys Thomas also cleared balls of the line and played really well making up one half of the very strong defence.
Johnny Wilson and Ben Field-Thomas were both outstanding, along with Lloyd Wilson, and all showed superior strength and high work-rates.
Sonny Phillips, Daniel Lynch and Muthalib Sofan made opportunities carrying the ball down the wings and passing with control and purpose.
Bruce Tasker and Harry Allen, Tenby's strikers, were both on top form, creating goal scoring opportunities, ploughing through the defence and leaving them standing.
Andrew Birch replaced Lynch just after half-time, and played his best match yet, playing a thinking game and making all the right moves.
Paul Rossi, on for Allen, looked lively, on his toes and came close to scoring.
Well done to all of you for a great performance and a deserved win.
Squad: Adam Hughes, Johnny Wilson, Ben Field-Thomas, Paul Griffiths, Rhys Thomas, Lloyd Wilson, Sonny Phillips, Muthalib Sofan, Daniel Lynch, Bruce Tasker, Harry Allen, Andrew Birch, Paul Rossi, Tom Groves.
Sorry to Rhys Thomas for last week's error (calling him Rhys Davies!)
Congratulations to all the Tenby boys who got through to the second round of the county trials - an excellent effort all round - and to Adam Hughes, Lloyd Wilson, Ben Field-Thomas and Johnny Wilson for obtaining selection into the squad and Daniel Lynch, in as a reserve. Well done!
