TENBY U'14s 5
HEBRANDSTON U'14s 2
Hebrandston came at Tenby from the kick-off and the Tenby defence of David Saunders, Ben Messenger, James Davies and Damian Walters soaked up immense pressure from the visitors, dealing with it admirably.
The exuberant start by the visitors was matched by the equally tough stance by the Tenby boys. The game was end-to-end stuff for the first 15 minutes, with David Jones and Ashley Pior both carving excellent goal scoring chances, going one-on-one with the 'keeper but not managing to find the back of the net.
Jones opened the scoring for Tenby on 20 minutes when Matthew Flemming fired a low cross from the right which the Herby 'keeper failed to hold on to, and Jones seized the opportunity to snatch up the loose ball and fire it into the gaping net.
The score remained 1-0 at half time and Tenby again soaked up intense pressure from Herby from the kick-off.
After five minutes Saunders limped off injured to be replaced by Luke Probert, making his debut in Tenby colours.
Ashley Murdock and Jamie Robinson were outstanding again with precision tackling and working hard to help the defence with Danny Harris handling superbly in the Tenby goal. However, the visitors forced an equaliser.
Tenby replied with a good attack which saw Davies fire a brilliant shot just over the bar. The ball came back into Tenby's box and an unfortunate lapse in concentration saw Harries fail to collect the loose ball and the visiting forward made no mistake with his effort.
With the lead surrendered, Tenby's heads did not drop. The whole team knew this game was far from over, and when Probert made a dashing run down to the left and crossed for Prior to equalise; the buzz that swept through the team was clearly evident.
Jones made a superb run at the visiting defence, beating two men before passing to Clem Boswell to restore Tenby's lead.
Prior found the back of the net but was dubiously flagged offside by the Herby linesman. The Tenby pressure broke down the visiting defence again when Fleming crossed for Probert to score on his debut to put Tenby 4-2 up.
Tenby's fifth goal came when captain Walters made for what is becoming a trademark run from his own half, and when he got just outside the visitors' 18 yard box he passed to Prior who made no mistake with his fierce drive.
This was a brilliant performance from Tenby in a rough game which was superbly officiated by the 'no nonsense' Alan Sykes. Thanks to Alan, and to Keith Saunders for running the line.
Tenby team: Danny Harries, David Saunders, Ben Messenger, James Davies, Damian Walters, Matthew Fleming, Clem Boswell, Jamie Robinson, Ashley Murdoch, David Jones, Luke Probert.

Merlins Bridge U12s 2
The Tenby Taxis sponsored Tenby Under 12s entertained Merlins Bridge at the Clicketts on Saturday.
The boys started out confidently with Toby Smith scoring two early goals. Chris Heesom showed his devastating pace on the right wing and was unlucky not to be rewarded with a couple of goals himself having struck the crossbar on one occasion and narrowly missing the post on another.
In fact the boys dominated the game to such an extent that they should have been seven or eight goals up at half time. James Howes showed his ability to strike thunderbolts from the outside of the area and his two long range attempts were only thwarted by the excellent keeping of the Merlins Bridge goal keeper. Kiefer Thompson worked tirelessly with skill and determination and won plenty of possession.
Rhys Winter who was a live wire on the left was unlucky himself and provided some quality crosses to centre forwards Ben and Tom. The back four of Rob Jones, William Hughes, Mathew Davies and James Howes were not called upon much in the first half but this was set to change.
In the second half Merlins Bridge came out fighting and were kept at bay by some determined tackling from the back four in particular Mathew Davies who is never out to dodge a tackle, no matter what shape the ball.
In an attempt to add some more pace to the backs, Rob Jones, who had a sterling game giving 100 per cent as usual, was substituted for new boy James Criddle. Unfortunately James sustained an almost immediate injury and a reshuffle was necessary with Chris Heesom taking up the left back role and James Maxwell taking up Chris' role. Johnny Lammin also came on for Tom Harland.
Tenby held out for most of the second half due mainly to some excellent goal keeping by Richard. However, Merlins Bridge scored their first goals with 10 minutes left to go and then equalised with two minutes remaining.
The home crowd had now become eerily quiet but should have kept faith in the boys because straight from the restart Toby Smith collected the ball and swerved and shimmed past three or four would-be tacklers before he was brought down by some over zealous tackling just outside the opponents' penalty area.
The free kick was lined up by James Maxwell who put a smile on the home supporters faces when he thundered the ball into the top right hand corner of the net. Look out Becks!
Final score 3-2.
Thanks go to coaches Mark and Huw, referee Dai Merrick and lines man Brinley Hughes.
Tenby fielded: Richard Bridges, Rob Jones, William Hughes, Mathew Davies, James Howes, Chris Heesom, Kiefer Thompson, Toby Smith, Rhys Winter, Ben Edwards, Tom Harland, James Criddle, Johnny Lammin and James "Beckham" Maxwell.
NEYLAND U16s 1
TENBY U16s 6
The Tees-R-Us sponsored Tenby Under 16s progressed to the second round of the cup after making hard work to overcome a stubborn Neyland side. Tenby were always in control of the game but were guilty of missing numerous chances in front of goal which could have brought their final score to double figures.
Lloyd Wilson got the Seasiders off to a good start by scoring, one of his now trademark goals, from the edge of the box and Bruce Tasker doubled their lead by heading home at the far post.
The remainder off the half was littered with missed chances from a least half a dozen Tenby players.
As half time approached Neyland caught the visitors pushing too far forward and scored after a long ball found their centre forward.
Lewis Hurlow saved well from the initial shot but he couldn't hold on to the ball and it ran loose to the home right wing who made no mistake.
The second period saw Tenby again pressurise the Neyland defence and it took a soft goal to eventually break them down.
Matthew Birch, who had replaced Liam Robson, crossed from the right and the ball fortunately looped over the home 'keeper's head for number three.
The Neyland 'keeper was outstanding throughout the game, making several brave saves and certainly kept them in the match. Tasker collected his second and Jack Christopher got Tenby's fifth.
Sonny Phillips and Jac 'Zorro' Worley came on for the last quarter of the match with Worley providing the perfect pass for Tasker to claim his hat trick.
Tenby team: L. Hurlow, B. Field-Thomas, D. Taylor, D. Cope, S. Jenkins, B. Tasker, L. Wilson, D. Otton, B. Quartermaine, L. Robson, J. Christopher, J. Worley, S. Phillips, M. Birch.

HERBRANDSTON U10s 1
The Rumbleway Caravan Park sponsored Tenby Under 10s played their fifth game of the season against Herbrandston at the Clicketts. Played in perfect conditions the match saw lots of skills and determination from both sides, however, Tenby just had the edge and once they got a few goals in front never looked like losing.
Gareth Warlow was the top marksman with a well taken hattrick, with Joe Koop, Curtis Hurlow, Philip Horsley and Ciaran Broomhead completing the scoring.
Tenby's defence of Greg Lees-Griffiths, Iwan 'Ozzie' Osborne, and Broomhead was solid once again with goalkeeper, Jake Roberts, proving as reliable as ever.
Daniel Edwards with Hurlow and Horsley in midfield provided good balls for their strikers, while up front Koop, Warlow and Ieuan William kept the visiting defence busy. Williams, on his debut for the Red and Blacks, was unlucky not to get his name on the score sheet.
Thanks to Pete Horsley for refereeing.
Tenby team: J. Roberts, G. Lees-Griffiths, I. Osborne, C. Broomhead, C. Hurlow, P. Horsley, D. Edwards, J. Koop, G. Warlow, I. Williams.

FISHGUARD SPORTS 0
Up against an under strength Fishguard side, Tenby took full advantage of notching up double figures. In the past we may have settled for a lesser result, but this goal hungry squad were up for building the goal difference.
There is very little to write about as the game was very much one sided as the result suggests.
The Tenby 'keeper was seldom troubled, in fact the only time he was asked to do anything of real exertion was when he was nominated to tuck away a well taken penalty (or pelanty as my good friend Timmy Rossiter might say!).
The side played well and seemed comfortable on the ball making space for the talented midfield of Catlin, Williams, Helmich and Thomas to make opportunities for the industrious pairing of Mcglaughlin and Lawrence.
The goals came from a range of players the most noteworthy being Mcglaughlin who grabbed six of his team's tally. Tony Griffiths finished off a fine solo run, and Mike Lindsey rolled back the years with a spectacular left foot drive while the 'keeper was unaware grabbing his sandwiches out of his bag.
Jimmy Thomas netted two and Lawrence completed the tally. Neil Findley was desperately unlucky as he forced himself forward at the back post to slip the ball wide of the upright.
This was a good team performance with, for once, a hat full of goals.
This Saturday sees a cup trip to highflying division two Herbrandston, sure to be a difficult match.
