The Picnic Basket sponsored Tenby Under 12s met a Goodwick side for the first time in the league.

Going 2-0 up in the first half, the team looked really confident and were playing well. Their first goal came from Adam Johns after Gavin Kinsey and Sam Christopher had combined well on the left. Not long afterwards, Scott Helmich made a dazzling run down the right, crossed the ball well and Johns was there again to finish it off.

Richard Thomas had little to do in the first half, when the defence of Thomas Spencer, Joe Scourfield, Jamie Robins and Scott Helmich played well.

Aaron Goldsmith paired up with Johns in the middle of the park. This combination, with Kinsey on the left and Jordan Lloyd making good runs on the right, looked very promising in the first half.

Guto Griffiths and Christopher had several chances to add to the score and Tenby were looking in control.

But this was definitely a game of two halves. During the second half Tenby were adjudged to have given away three penalties which the Goodwick players converted, and then were given a further goal while the linesman was flagging for offside.

These incidents shell-shocked the Tenby side and instead of rising above them, the side fell to pieces and, although Christopher had two clear cut chances, somehow it was not to be Tenby's day.

Richard Jones came on as sub, but it was too little, too late.

It was a weary team that travelled back to Tenby after the match, but hopefully the boys will have learnt a lesson from this 'event'.

Thanks to the parents for providing transport.

Squad: Richard Thomas, Guto Griffiths, Scott Helmich, Jamie Robins, Aaron Goldsmith, Sam Christopher (capt), Jordan Lloyd, Gavin Kinsey, Richard Jones, Adam Johns, Joe Scourfield, Thomas Spencer.

GIRLS FOOTBALL

Congratulations to Tenby Jays who have won the Under 12s Girls' Indoor League title for the second consecutive time.

With two games in hand and needing two points, the Jays made sure of their victory with their first game. They beat Neyland Terriers 4-0, with goals coming from Jenna Wright, Jade Manning and Danielle Jones 2.

They kept up their winning streak with a closer game against Saundersfoot Sharks. Jenna Wright scored two and Jade Manning one, to keep their unbeaten record with a 3-2 victory.

Well done to all the squad members.

Tenby Tigers played well and have improved over the last 10 weeks. The girls have enjoyed their first taste of competitive football.

They picked up valuable points with two 0-0 draws against Neyland Athletic and Neyland Tigers. All the squad played well and deserve credit for their commitment.

Tenby Tornadoes played their last three games in style.

They drew 0-0 with Neyland Athletic, 1-1 with Saundersfoot Stingers, with a good goal from Holly Cloake, and lost 0-3 to Goodwick, despite having plenty of the game.

After finishing up at the bottom last season, the Tornadoes have done extremely well to finish halfway up the table this season.

Well done to all the Tenby players and thanks to all their parents for their support over the last 20 weeks.

Under 14s: Tenby played Saundersfoot in their first game and once again a goal by Liz Nicholas was enough to win it.

However, in their second match, they lost to a well disciplined Goodwick side.

Well done to the small squad of players who have competed well over the last 20 weeks.

Thanks to Ruth Davies for her loyal support to the team over the season.
