Tenby made a rapid start to the game, forcing Hundleton back into their own penalty area, but there were several near misses before Mikey Boswell opened the score from a Billy Vaughan corner.

Aaron Goldsmith soon made the score 2-0, but a goalkeeping error saw a scoreline of 2-1 encourage the visitors.

Tenby put this lapse behind them when Mikey Boswell added to the lead, and Adam John then crossed for Billy Vaughan to lay the ball off to Joe Scourfield, who fired home from 25 yards to make the score 4-1.

Following a throw-in, Aaron Goldsmith put Tenby further ahead and a sixth goal came from a rebound off goalkeeper and crossbar to be claimed by Scott Helmich, whose original shot looked sure to score.

Tenby resumed strongly in the second-half and Sam Christopher hit the post for a second time to set up another Mikey Boswell goal, before a square Tenby defence allowed a Hundleton forward to lob the ball over the advancing Richard Thomas to make the score 7-2.

Tenby raised their game after this and put the Hundleton defence under constant pressure, with dangerous crosses from wide players Gavin Kinsey and Billy Vaughan creating a load of chances for the other forwards.

Tenby changed goalkeepers, with Andrew Stretton coming on and Richard Thomas slotting in a left back.

From then on Tenby were completely in charge and Mikey Boswell scored from close range, quickly followed by a penalty, to put his team 9-2 in front. Billy Vaughan ran through to score a good goal with a cross-shot and Mikey Boswell and Sam Christopher quickly added to the total, before another lapse in the Tenby defence saw the score move to 12-3.

Tenby soon got back into their best rhythm and Adam John and Sam Christopher added further goals to see them finish with an impressive 14-3 scoreline.

Hundleton played the game with good spirit and had some brisk attacking moves which kept Jordan Lloyd and Jo Scourfield on their toes, while Jamie Robins had a good game throughout at left-back. Scott Helmich did a good job on the Tenby right, linking up well as a wing-back with Billy Vaughan in a second-half spell that left Hundleton dizzy. Michael Halligan, coming on, did well on the right and had a stinging shot well saved by the substitute goalkeeper.

Thanks to Nick for refereeing and to Nick Johns for running the line.

Tenby squad: Richard Thomas, Gavin Kinsey, Joe Scourfield, Jordan Lloyd, Aaron Goldsmith (capt.), Adam Johns, Mikey Boswell, Sam Christopher, Jamie Robins, Scott Helmich, Billy Vaughan, Andrew Stretton, Michael Halligan.

NARBERTH U13s 0

TENBY U13s 12

The Blooms of Lower Frog Street, Tenby, sponsored Under 13s travelled to Narberth last Saturday. With Narberth currently lying bottom of the division and Tenby occupying second place, the boys were expecting an easy win.

However nobody told Narberth that and for the first 15 mins the game was evenly poised. Jordan Williams for Narberth impressed with his silky ball skills and big Mike Jones in the Narberth goal acquitted himself well in the early stages.

However, it was Tenby's formidable centre forward Jamie Williams who was to break the deadlock with the first of his impressive five goals.

Chris Heesom was soon to follow with a well-executed header from a pin-point accurate cross by right-back James Howes, which gave the Narberth 'keeper no chance.

Rhys Winter, sporting his new sun tan, had some exciting runs up the left wing, and on the opposite side James Maxwell was equally impressive.

Toby Smith dominated in midfield with a strong display, providing plentiful ball for his strikers. Johhny Lammin, who failed to get on the score sheet this week, linked well with the midfield and was confident with the ball at his feet.

Thomas Nash was a rock in defence and worked tirelessly throughout the game, as did captain Mathew Davies, who was unlucky not to score, when having run the entire length of the field with the ball at his feet, his resultant shot at goal was well saved by Mikey.

Kiefer Thomson was to score his second hat-trick of the season and was as industrious as ever. James Howes showed his versatility in both attack and defence and made some probing runs into the opposition's half.

Tenby 'keeper Richard Bridges was rarely called upon, but when he was, he didn't put a foot wrong and his kicking from goal was impressive.

Rob Jones came on in the second half and defended well.

All credit to a Narberth side, although losing 12-0, they never gave up and battled to the final whistle.

Tenby's goal scorers were Jamie 5, Kiefer 3, Chris 2 and Toby 2.

Next week the boys will experience a tougher encounter when they travel away to top-of-the-table Camrose.

JOHNSTON 4

TENBY U12s 5

The Tenby House Hotel sponsored Under 12s football team travelled to Johnston despite being down in numbers due to illness and holidays. After a good team talk, the players benefited from knowing what was expected of them. They went on to approach the game with a determined attitude.

The team attacked from the start, playing great football and soon went ahead. After good build-up play from Mike Robins and Tom Nicholas, the Johnston defender turned the ball into his own net.

Three more quick goals followed by Henry Lawrence, Daryl Mansbridge and Joseph Richards, who was playing his first game of the season.

Many more chances were made, and so much was Tenby's domination of the first half that Brad Jenkins (press-ganged into playing in goal) didn't have a single advance on the goal to intercept. Half-time saw the score at 4-0 to Tenby.

The second half was a much closer affair. Johnston got a couple of goals back and on entering injury time Tenby led by a comfortable 4-2.

Johnston went on to level the scores with another two goals, with Tenby under severe pressure to hang on for the draw.

Daryl Mansbridge then broke away from his own half and beat their goalie in a one-on-one situation, that he had actually been practising all week!

A couple of minutes later and the game was over, leaving Tenby with a well deserved victory.

Team: Brad Jenkins, Sam Ormond, Lloyd Thomas, Alex Harley, Cerith Messenger, Henry Lawrence, Lewis Davies, Tom Nicholas, Mike Robins, Daryl Mansbridge, Joseph Richards, Jack Sayer.

Also many thanks to Gary at the Kitbag in Tenby for sponsoring shin pads for the team.

TENBY U11s 10

TEMPLETON U11s 0

The Tenby Cycles and Skateboards sponsored Tenby Under 11s entertained Templeton at the Clicketts and ran out clear winners. Templeton are a fairly new side and are improving rapidly, but they couldn't match the skill and pace of the Seasiders.

Curtis Hurlow got Tenby on their way when a great through ball from Jordan Richards saw Hurlow unleash a thunderous shot. Josh Koop netted number two and three with two good left-footed strikes and Leo Morleland was on hand to knock in the fourth from a Richards corner.

Although not troubled too much throughout the game, Loui Fecci had to be on his toes at all times and managed to keep a second clean sheet in as many weeks.

Good play in midfield by Philip Horsley provided the space for Ieuan Williams to slot in his first of the season and just before half-time Koop claimed his second hat-trick of the year.

Tenby continued to pressurise the visitors in the second period, but stout defending and goalkeeping kept them at bay for a long time.

Curtis Hurlow eventually broke through with another good strike and the lively Richards got his customary goal following neat passing between Matthew Davie, Nick Hall and Moreland.

Ieuan Williams ran on to a loose ball to grab his second and in the dying moments a shot from Daniel Edwards was guided in at the far post by Hall.

Tenby side: L. Fecci, L. Moreland, D. Edwards, M. Davie, P. Horsley, J. Richards, N. Hall, C. Hurlow, I. Williams, J. Koop.

Tenby Ladies 6

Goodwick 2

On Sunday, Tenby Ladies, sponsored by the Famous Pound Shop, gained a well-deserved victory in their opening cup match of the season against Goodwick Ladies.

With both sides only fielding 10 players, Tenby opened the scoring when stand-in captain Nicola Aston scored an excellent goal from 20 yards into the top right-hand corner.

Tenby kept pressing Goodwick into their own half for long periods and goals followed from Michaela Bevan, Lisa Jones and Nicola's second.

The Tenby defenders gave a good solid performance, with Carrie Slack, Hayley Lowe, Kaylie Davies and Imelde Rossi producing good defensive headers; Laura Richards also put in a solid performance.

Five minutes from half-time a Goodwick player picked up an injury and and had to leave the field, with the score remaining 4-0 at the interval.

The second half saw the visitors having to defend deep, with Tenby taking command.

Thirty minutes into the half Tenby started to lose concentration and two goals came from Goodwick's Emma Rowell and Sharon Rogers, beating goalkeeper Denise Powell.

This was the wake-up call for Tenby, who responded with goals from Kaylie Davies and Annie Davies, making the final score 6-2.

Team: Denise Powell, Kaylie Davies, Imelde Rossi, Carrie Slack, Haylie Lowe, Nicola Aston (capt), Annie Davies, Laura Richards,Lisa Jones, Michaela Bevan. Coach - Garry Heesom.

GIRLS FOOTBALL

UNDER 14s: A brisk start against Johnston resulted in an almost immediate goal for Nikki Furlong, who beautifully netted from the right-hand corner.

Tenby piled on the pressure, but failed to score any further goals.

A couple of breakaways by Johnston were held out by a strong Tenby defence of Lucia Fecci and Sophie John, who had an excellent game in goal.

Against Saundersfoot Sharks, a sleepy Tenby side saw themselves behind through some poor marking and general complacency after their first game.

Only Sophie in goal helped further embarrasment.

After constant pressure by the Sharks, Tenby started to get themselves into the game late on, resulting in an equaliser by Nikki.

Tenby would have been happy with a point, but a last minute break through saw Nikki hammer home the winner for a rather fortunate three points.

Tenby now top the table, but a lot of hard work is needed to remain there.

Team: Sophie John, Nikki Furlong, Holly Cloake, Lucia Fecci, Layla May, Luci May, Sophie Rees, Vicky Brace.

Thanks to Tim and Nigel for running the side.

UNDER 12: Tenby Tornadoes battled well in both games, but landed up on the losing side. They lost 3-0 to Neyland and 2-0 to a strong Goodwick A side.

The girls are improving with every game and it won't be long before they pick up some more points.

Tornadoes: Sarah Paterson, Yasmin Woods, Rosey Wicks, Chloe Goldie, Kirsty, Amy.

Tenby Jays started the morning with a tough match on their hands against Pembroke. Gracie Bevan tackled well and got stuck in, while Sophie Izzard and Elena did their best to score, but unfortunately failed to do so. Rhianne also tried hard up front and hit the crossbar too many times. At the end, the score 0-0.

Tenby's second match was certainly better, ending up with the score 6-0 scoreline. Rhianne played well, netting five goals and Elena scored one.

Ellen did well in goal, but came out of goal in the third match which was just a friendly.

Jays: Sophie Izzard, Gracie Bevan, Ellen Thomas, Elena Ciccotti, Rhianne Griffiths.

UNDER 10s: Tenby Tigers beat Pembroke Boro 1-0, with Nia Thomas scoring the goal.

In the second game they won 4-0 against Neyland, with Kimberly Alman (2), Holly Furlong and Nia Thomas all scoring.

Rhiannon Harley played well in goal and Lauren Lewis and Bethan Osborne helped set up many chances from midfield. Lois Horsley and Molly Goforth tackled well to help Rhiannon keep a clean sheet in both matches.

Tigers: Rhiannon Harley, Molly Goforth, Lauren Lewis, Bethan Osborne, Nia Thomas, Lois Horsley, Holly Furlong, Kimberly Alman.

Thanks to all the parents for transport and running the sides this week.
