TENBY U13s 7 CLARBESTON ROAD U13s 0 A gloomy evening and a game strategy from Tenby which the Welsh rugby team would follow later in the evening - functional, match winning, with moments of excellence, as Clarbeston Road arrived at the Clicketts. An early disallowed goal encouraged the home side and Hugo slotted home a relatively easy goal, followed by a second, before Joe added to his birthday week tally with the third. Three-nil at half- time. Second half and the trend continued - Tenby superb at times, but chasing the game too. Caught offside too many times to mention, the boys ran out eventual, decisive, winners, with David, Rhys, Elliot and David again adding to the goal tally. An accomplished game - you did what you had to do - well done everyone. Saturday next .. TENBY U13s 8 SAUNDERSFOOT U13s 1 On a morning when showers threatened to arrive but didn't, Tenby welcomed a team of their school mates from neighbours Saundersfoot. The home side totally dominated first-half action, netting five before the interval, Hugo opening the score, a total missile from Jack the second, Elliot the third and fifth, with Joe slotting home the fourth. Second half started quietly as Saundersfoot came out heads held high. But Joe grabbed a fifth, before Saundersfoot found the back of the net. This inspired Tenby into some final minutes of action and Joe and Elliot both completed their hat- tricks. Another controlled, impressive game from all players. Maybe this schedule suits you? And finally Monday. ST. CLEARS U13s 1 TENBY U13s 4 On what turned out to be a glorious late summer evening, we travelled to St. Clears to play them for the second time in a week. It's never going to be easy playing St. Clears and this was no different. With coach John and son Tom on vacation, the familiar tones of Simon once more resounded from the touchline, but the boys ignored him and carried on as they left off on Saturday, dominating the play with some good early pressure. Elliot saw the boys 1-0 up at half-time with a very coolly executed goal. Second half and some great attacking play saw the ball come off the St. Clears' goalie to put Tenby 2-0 up. A corner from Hugo, which somehow found its way over the line, gave the boys their third and Joe slotted home his third penalty of the season. St. Clears scored a cracking goal towards the end, but it was a comfortable victory for a team playing so well together at the moment. Thanks to coach John, to stand-in coach Simon, referees, linesmen and to a very loyal band of touchline supporters. And to the players who have never even looked tired over the past eight games, a tough schedule, but you should be proud of yourselves. A brilliant start to the season. Keep it up. Players: George McBeth, Corey Morris, Tom Grover, Jack Murphy, Sam Butler, Hugo Wellum, Joe Worley, Toby Rossiter, David Webb, Rhys Nicholas, Elliot Goldsmith, Daniel Fairlie, Cheyne Lloyd, Ben Simmonds.

The Willow Carpentry sponsored Tenby Under 15s started the new season with a good win against Clarbeston Road at the Clicketts. They scored the first goal within 60 seconds of the kick off, when Will Thomas robbed the visitors of possession and played a neat one-two with Ashley Smith before lobbing the advancing Clarby 'keeper. Thomas also got his side's second goal, this time from close range after fine work by Smith and debutant Ashley Andrews. Tenby were unlucky not to go further ahead, but were just off target on several occasions. Their third goal eventually came courtesy of a Jordan Richards corner, which Patrick Elliott just managed to toe- poke home from six yards. While Richards himself claimed number four with a cheeky solo effort. The second half was virtually all Tenby, with Clarbeston Road only making a few isolated attacks, which were clinically dealt with by a solid Tenby defence, well marshalled by captain Dan Edwards. The home side added three more goals, but this should easily have been doubled with some excellent chances going a begging. Thomas grabbed a fine hat-trick when, again from the kick-off, neat play by Curtis Hurlow, Greg Lees- Griffiths and Andrews gave Thomas an easy tap-in. Tenby's other debutant, Declan Carroll, marked his presence in the red and black shirts by firing home from the edge of the box and Richards completed the scoring after being put through by Aaron Roberts and hitting a thunderous shot into the roof of the goal. Thanks to Peter Horsley for refereeing and Mike Roberts for manning the first aid. Tenby side: J. Roberts, G. Lees-Griffiths, C. Hurlow, P. Elliott, D. Edwards, A. Andrews, D. Carroll, J. Richards, A. Smith, W. Thomas, G. Warlow, A. Heesom, A. Roberts, P. Horsley.

Tenby Under 15s, sponsored by Willow Carpentry, recorded their second win in as many games at Hundleton last Saturday. The Seasiders had to make a late change when regular goalkeeper, Jake Roberts, pulled out with a back injury, but Will Thomas deputised between the sticks with great aplomb. Hundleton had a much different line-up to last season and the visitors found them a hard nut to crack and realised it would take something special to break them. Well, after 10 minutes it was. A long clearance from Thomas found Ashley Andrews on the right and, after beating his defender, he sent over a cross, from which Gareth Warlow acrobatically scored in- off the post. Like the proverbial bus, the second came minutes later. A Jordan Richards corner was only half cleared and fell sweetly to Declan Carroll, who deftly picked his spot from 15 yards. Hundleton had a few chances to reduce the arrears, but were denied by captain Dan Edwards and his defence. Just before the interval, Richards sent a long pass to Warlow, who scampered past his defender and scored in the far corner. Ashley Andrews almost notched number four, at the start of the second half, with a well-timed volley. However, the quick-thinking Phil Horsley did, when he collected a short corner and his deceptive cross looped over the 'keeper and went in off the far post. Referee, Keith McNiff, awarded Tenby a penalty following an indiscretion at a corner and Will Thomas made no mistake from the spot. Andrews finally got reward for his sterling work up front, when Patrick Elliott found him in space and the centre forward beat the Hundleton 'keeper with a powerful low shot. Ashley Smith finished in similar fashion to his namesake after a good cross by Rob Fairlie which found him in space at the far post, and the later scored number eight when he shot through a crowd of players. They'll be happy in France about that one! The final goal came from Declan Carroll, who is forging a good midfield partnership with Richards. Greg Lees-Griffiths neatly lobbed over the home defence and Carroll bravely headed over the advancing Hundleton 'keeper. Tenby side: W. Thomas, G. Lees-Griffiths, C. Hurlow, P. Elliott, D. Edwards, A. Heesom, J. Richards, D. Carroll, A. Smith, G. Warlow, A. Andrews, P. Horsley, A. Roberts, R. Fairlie.
