TENBY U16s 10

HUNDLETON U16s 2

After the previous week's morale-boosting victory, the T.P. Hughes sponsored Tenby Under 16s welcomed Hundleton to The Clicketts. Pre-season, Tenby had scored a convincing win in a 'friendly' against the visitors, so would that trend continue?

With only George McBeth out injured, Tenby's coaching team moved their players around, and it was an interesting formation that started the game.

As both teams settled, Hundleton grabbed the early initiative and opened the scoring, which only goaded the Tenby players into top gear and they took total control of the game.

Jack scored the first for Tenby, closely followed by George Lander, Hugo and Goldie getting their names on the goalsheet. They led a very comfortable 4-1 at half-time.

Tenby looked very sharp at the start of the second half, winning a penalty, which Goldie took care of.

Hundleton threatened from time to time, but Tenby's new-look defence held firm until a stray hand appeared in the penalty area and Hundleton scored from the spot.

This, however, only opened the floodgates as the homeside bombarded the visitors' goal.

Jack picked up his second, Lander got three more, with Callum, making a welcome return from injury, opening his league tally for the season.

At the final whistle, it was an impressive victory for the Tenby side.

This was an excellent performance from all players, with confidence and team spirit running high! So what formation will the coaches pick next game?

Thanks to coaches John, John and Neil, Andy on the line, kit sponsors T.P. Hughes and Jameston Village Stores and the family members on the touchline.

Squad: Corey Hill, Cheyne Lloyd, Toby Rossiter, Sam Butler, David Webb, Matt Davies, Hugo Wellum, Joe Worley, Jack Murphy, George Lander, Elliot Goldsmith, James Adie, Callum Greer, Rhys Nicholas, Tom Grover.

St. Clears U14s 4

Tenby U14s 10

A dramatic reversal of fortune saw the Under 14s come back from three down in five minutes to score 10 goals at St. Clears and continue their winning start in the league.

Tenby were all at sea in the opening minutes. Hesitancy at the back allowed St. Clears to open the scoring unchallenged. Within two minutes the home side had doubled their lead with an outstanding dipping volley from the edge of the area.

When the visitors conceded a penalty to go three down in 10 minutes, it was hard to see a way back.

But to Tenby's credit they fought on and were given a ray of hope when a low cross was deflected in by a St. Clears defender.

The goal spurred Tenby into action. The speed of Owen Coombs down the right flank and some nice link-up play between Spencer Williams and Lloyd Hughes, created a series of chances. And Adam John had a close-range effort well saved, before Kieren Jones fired in from the edge of the area, rocketing Tenby back into contention.

Tenby soon equalised when Lloyd Hughes intercepted a goal-kick and chipped the St. Clears 'keeper.

A great corner from Scott Ferney was met at the far post by Kieren Jones to make it 4-3.

Owen Coombs then sped onto a cross from Loyd Hughes and smashed Tenby into an unexpected 5-3 lead at half-time.

After the break, Tenby commanded the game, with the back four of Luke Hartland, Adam Muskett, Ben Roberts and Callum Steele looking far more settled.

After a fluid passing move, Spencer Willams played in Lloyd Hughes to slot home Tenby's sixth.

New signing, Callum Steele pushed up from left back and fired a shot across the face of goal, before Lloyd Hughes beat the off-side trap and completed his hat-trick.

Even with one or two players struggling with knocks, Tenby continued to dominate. Midway through the half, Tom Harries came on and gave an assured display at right back, while Dan Evans joined the attack.

After more Tenby pressure, Scott Ferney curled in Tenby's eighth.

Undeterred, a battling St. Clears hit back on the break to make it 8-4. Tenby were then awarded a penalty, which was saved by the 'keeper diving low to his right, but Spencer Williams reacted quickly to tap in number nine for Tenby.

Kieren Jones then rounded off a remarkable morning with a spectacular free-kick from the edge of  the area to make the final score 10-4.

Well done to all the players for some great performances in this dramatic encounter, and to Tenby U14 kit sponsors, Park Road Fish and Chips.

Kilgetty U11s 1

After an encouraging start to the season, the Andrew Price sponsored Tenby Under 11s met local rivals Kilgetty at the Clicketts ground last weekend.

As expected, a hard fought local derby took place, with both teams committed to the cause.

Tenby goalie Jack Mills is growing in confidence, especially with a solid defence of Harry Cook and Ben Millwood to shield him, strengthened this week by Steven Ward, and playing three at the back made it extremely diffcult for the visiting side to break through.

A neat finish by Aidan Fraser for the home side was quickly followed by a breakaway goal from Kilgetty to bring the sides in at 1-1 for the half-time talk.

Tenby coaches Luke Lawrence and Allan Brindley could not praise the boys enough for their first half efforts and it was decided to go all out in the second half, to push forward and seek more goals to seal the game.

Herbie Haggar thrived in his attacking role, netting a quality goal, just reward for his silky skills and relentless effort, while Billy Lawrence and Sam Jackson sprayed the ball around the park stretching the game out wide and releasing more space for Max Brindley to show his class by scoring a further two goals.

Lone striker Henry McBeth never gave up, chasing balls that were not his to win and creating two more goals out of positions it seemed impossible to do so.

Tenby ran out clear winners in the end, not only scoring a hatful of goals, but also playing some excellent football.
