An exhibition of paintings by artist Guy Manning opens at Lewis and Lewis, County Chambers, Warren Street, Tenby, tonight (Friday).
Guy, who taught art at Ysgol Dyffryn Taf for 12 years, has been exhibiting paintings and drawings for about 15 years.
He gave up his teaching job in May to pursue his career as an artist, which he said was a tough decision financially, but also because Dyffryn Taf was such a great place to work.
Guy has had exhibitions across the UK (though mainly in Wales), and also in New York back in Easter this year.
He said: "My paintings are a response to what I see, about where I travel through and wander around. Long looks and short glimpses are what we take from our travels and wanderings.
"Our association with land, be it through myths, literature, dog walking, gardening, travelling, agriculture, mushrooming, reality, dream and history are constantly shaping us, and as a painter, this is necessary and exciting: times of day, types of weather; seasonal light and gloom; places familiar and alien; squinting in sun or squidging in wellies. Everything changes."
The exhibition runs until December 31 (closed Mondays). Opening hours are 12 noon - 4 pm or by appointment by telephoning 07813855282.
