There seems to be some confusion over meeting dates etc., so let me give you a few dates (writes L.D.). The club meets at the Tenby Bowling Club on the first and third Wednesdays in each month at 10.30 am. If there is a fifth Wednesday, then that is a Ladies Day with a special programme. The Christmas Lunch is on December 12 at the Park Hotel on the North Cliff, meeting at 12.30 for 1 pm. The AGM is the second Wednesday, January 12, 2008. Our second meeting in November was down in numbers, but still a lively social morning. The president had to bang his gavel three times to bring the club to order. There were no anniversaries to relate, so it was straight into the 10-minute speaker's slot. Darrel John was the speaker and he chose as his subject a mystery. What happened to the MV El Dorita? At the end of his talk about a fire on board this 207-ton boat, which was put out successfully, she was last seen under her own steam and accompanied by a ship of the Royal Navy on her way, it is said, to London, where it is understood she never arrived. Ah Jim lad, it is all a strange tale of daring do. I will say no more, as I don't want a 'D' notice clamped on my writings. The next meeting is on December 5 when our speaker will be Ron Hurlow.
